SAPREM NGO has collaborated for SMART Project with Tech Mahindra Foundation which is the corporate social responsibility (CSR) arm of Tech Mahindra Limited, a Mahindra Group Company.
SMART (Skills-for-Market Training) Programme. This programme provides basic employability skills in sectors such as Retail, ITES etc. and is implemented at Khairani Road, Maharashtra Vajan Kata, Andheri East with the partnership. More than 200 Youths (Male+Female ) have planned to train every year through SMART programme and 80% youth will be in dignified jobs in the organized sector.
SMART programme begins with a Foundation Course, which trains youth in:
- Spoken English
- Basic IT and Computers
- Workplace Readiness – soft skills
Main Features of the SMART :
• Career oriented courses
• Participative management and healthy motivating environment
• High qualified and experienced faculty
• Rich cultural, recreational and leisure activities
• Counseling, Training and Placement Assistant
• Well-equipped Computer lab, Retail lab and Classrooms etc.
Trainees on the SMART programme are oriented on a diverse variety of specialized trades available further, with a detailed perspective on the jobs that one could take up, upon their successful completion.
The trades available on the SMART+ programme, in addition to the Foundation Course, include
- IT-Enabled Services (ITES) / Business Process Outsourcing (BPO)
- Customer Relationships and Sales (CRS)
- Multimedia
- Tally
This SMART Project marks a significant milestone in the journey of expanding its employability programme. It sets standards of skill training. It will create employment opportunities for young men and women from low-income families across the country.
