NIRMAL MMR PROJECT(Community Sanitary Blocks Construction):
With intent to provide basic hygienic facilities to the economically weaker section of the society, MMRDA funded “Nirmal MMR Abhiyan” probably the largest urban sanitization programme to have ever envisaged in the country. This was started in February 2008, with an aim to improve the health and living conditions of the slum-dwellers in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
Nirmal MMR Abhiyan and SAPREM aim’s to provide clean, hygienic community toilets and bathrooms for those living in the slums. The amenities provided in these community toilets are actually exceptional. There will be a provision of 24 hour water and electricity supply. These community toilets are also specifically designed in considerations to suit the needs of senior citizens, handicapped, children etc.
Result:
- Project competed in Kalyan and Ulhasnagar.
- Total 37 sites and 768 seats were constructed.
- Approximately 30720 peoples get benefited in different 37 slums around Kalyan and Ulhasnagar.
- Collaboration with 37 CBO’s/ NGO’s.
- 40 person got employment as care taker.
