Dorf Ketal Mango Cup:
SAPREM NGO has collaborated with Dorf Ketal Ch. India Pvt. Ltd for this Mango Plantation
Project which will protect the environment as well produces Mango fruits. Grampanchayat will
participate in the Dorf Ketal Mango Cup competition. We will invite applications from various
Grampanchayats of Ahemednagar and Nashik Districts and villagers will take care of these
mango plants.
Organization would take support from Dr. Nagesh Tekale, President of Navdrushti organization
for training, concept and literature to grow mango plants. We will also get help from Dr.
Bhagwan Kapse for training the farmers, Sarpanch and members of the Grampanchayat to
develop the Mango Garden in their villages as well as nearby their houses.
Dorf Ketal would support us for entire project expenses through their Corporate Social
Responsibilities (CSR).
We will support the village in the following aspects:

  1. 50,000 Kesar mango plants to maximum villages. Each will get minimum 500 plants for
    their village economic development.
  2. JCB will be provided to dig the land in the village for mango plants.
  3. Expert will provide the training to the villagers, Grampanchayat Members and Govt
    officials for the best plantation.
  4. Project Staff will support these selected villages to complete the process and supervise
    their plantation and involve the people to take their Shramdaan.
  5. Regular field visits, guidance, monitoring and problem solving by the Trustees, Project
    Coordinator and Field Coordinator.
    Mango cup Awards: Village Grampanchayat will get these Awards as follows:
  6. Best Mango Cup -First Award: (Rs. 1 lac) Award would be given to the
    Grampanchayats which will grow 100% Mango Trees saved and with good condition in
    the last Two years. They have got the highest Mangoes in their Mango Garden/Village.
  7. Best Mango Cup – 2nd Prize- Second Award :(Rs. 75,000/-) Award would be given to
    the Grampanchayats which will grow 100% Mango Trees saved and with good condition
    in the last Two years. They have got the second highest Mangoes in their Mango
    Garden/Village.
  8. Best Jungle Cup – 3rd Prize: (Rs. 50000/-) 100% Mango Trees saved and with good
    condition in the last Two years. They have got the third highest Mangoes in their Mango
    Garden/Village.
  9. Runner-ups Jungle Cup Prize: (Rs. 25000/-) 80-90% Mango Trees saved and grown
    plants in good condition in the last two years. 5 prizes would be given to villages that
    would be developing their Mango Garden as per the norms of the competition.

Key Aspects:

  1. An Emotional Experience that Educates:-Designed with games, songs, experiments, field
    visits and Shramadaan, the experience enables trainees to develop an emotional
    understanding of the problem and the solution. 
  2. Capacity Building:-Villagers are empowered with skills and knowledge on topics such as
    tree plantation, using technical instruments, use of manure, watering, etc.
  3. Exposure to Success Stories: – Training is usually conducted in deforested villages. As a
    result, the benefits of tree conserving and using natural resources sustainably can be seen
    at first hand.
  4. Access to an Open-Source Knowledge Bank:-Engaging films and books on key aspects
    of the Competition are available online at no cost. They continue to be accessed by
    villages post the training, as well as interested audiences across the globe.
